Abstract

(57)【要約】 【課題】 小型化の推進が可能なように構成された溶着
装置を提供する。 【解決手段】 熱可塑性合成樹脂材で形成された複数の
部品を相互に溶着する溶着装置1の構成を、貫通孔11
aの周囲に加熱面11bを備えた環状の加熱盤11を有
するものとした。また、上記の加熱盤を、半径方向スラ
イド機構(実施の形態中の第1リニアアクチュエータ
4)を備えた旋回アーム3で支持すると共に、直線動ア
クチュエータ(実施の形態中の第2リニアアクチュエー
タ7)で支持された被溶着部品の保持機構(実施の形態
中のチャック6)を、前記アームの回転軸と直交し且つ
前記加熱盤の中心を通る平面上に配するものとした。こ
れにより、アダプタを介さずに被加熱面に加熱盤を直接
接触させることができるので、加熱盤を小型化し得る。
また被溶着部品の押圧機構と、被溶着部品を加熱盤から
逃がすシフト機構とを共用できる。

【発明の詳細な説明】

【発明の属する技術分野】本発明は、熱可塑性合成樹脂
材で形成された複数の部品を相互に溶着する溶着装置に
関するものである。

【従来の技術】例えば、ブロー成型された燃料タンクの
開口孔に、射出成型されたフィラーチューブを溶着する
には、従来、電熱線が組み込まれた加熱盤をフィラーチ
ューブのフランジと燃料タンクの開口孔の周囲との間に
挟み込み、先ず、所定の圧力でフィラーチューブを燃料
タンク側へ押し付けることによって両者の互いの接合面
を加熱盤の熱で溶融し、次に、加熱盤を離脱させた上で
フィラーチューブを燃料タンクに押し付けて互いの溶融
部を密着させた状態を維持しつつ冷却する、といった工
程がとられていた。
【0003】一方、従来の加熱盤は、いわば中実なブロ
ック状をなしているので、フィラーチューブ接続口の如
き筒状体の軸方向中間部に形成されたフランジを溶融す
るには、筒状部との干渉を避けてフランジだけを加熱す
るためのアダプタを加熱盤に設ける必要がある。そして
一方のみをアダプタを介して加熱すると、他方に対する
熱伝導度が違ってしまうので、無用ではあっても同様な
アダプタを他方との当接面にも設ける必要がある。
【0004】つまり従来装置によると、軸方向の中間部
に溶融部のある被溶着部品に対応しようとすると、実質
的に加熱盤が大型化してしまうので、これを支持して移
動させる装置も大がかりなものとなってしまい、設備費
用が嵩みがちであった。
【0005】またフィラーチューブ接続口の支持装置
は、アダプタの加熱面から被溶着部品を逃がすだけのス
トロークと、逃げた位置からタンク内に挿入するストロ
ークとを要するので、これも大型化を余儀なくされてい
た。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】以上述べた如く、従来
装置によると、軸方向の中間部に被加熱部のある部品に
対応させると加熱盤が大型化し、これに伴って加熱盤の
支持装置や被加熱部品の支持装置も大型化するため、設
備費用の低減が困難であった。
【0007】本発明は、このような従来技術に課せられ
た問題点を解消するべく案出されたものであり、その主
な目的は、小型化の推進が可能なように構成された溶着
装置を提供することにある。

【課題を解決するための手段】このような目的を果たす
ために、本発明の請求項1においては、熱可塑性合成樹
脂材で形成された複数の部品を相互に溶着する溶着装置
1の構成を、貫通孔11aの周囲に加熱面11bを備え
た環状の加熱盤11を有するものとした。

を、半径方向スライド機構(実施の形態中の第1リニア
アクチュエータ4)を備えた旋回アーム3で支持すると
共に、直線動アクチュエータ(実施の形態中の第2リニ

構(実施の形態中のチャック6)を、前記アームの回転
軸と直交し且つ前記加熱盤の中心を通る平面上に配する
ものとした。

熱盤を小型化し得る。また被溶着部品の押圧機構と、被

【発明の実施の形態】以下に添付の図面を参照して本発
明の構成を詳細に説明する。
【0012】図1および図2は、本発明に基づき構成さ
れた溶着装置を示している。この溶着装置1は、一端を
回動可能に支持され、且つ適宜な機構のロータリアクチ
ュエータ2で所定角度を回動駆動されるアーム3と、ア
ーム3の遊端に適宜な機構の第1リニアアクチュエータ
4を介して支持された加熱盤11と、例えばフィラーチ
ューブ接続口の如き被溶着部品を保持する保持機構とし
てのチャック6と、チャック6と共にチャック6に保持
された被溶着部品を軸線方向へ所定寸法だけ移動させる
適宜な機構の第2リニアアクチュエータ7とからなって
いる。そしてロータリアクチュエータ2と第2リニアア
クチュエータ7とが一体的に結合され、かつ該結合部が
固定フレーム8で支持されている。
【0013】ここで加熱盤11は、その中心に設けられ
た貫通孔11aの周囲に加熱面11bを備えた環状をな
しており、第2リニアアクチュエータ7の中心軸は、ア
ーム3の回転中心軸Aと直交し、且つ加熱盤11の中心
を通る平面上に配置されている。
【0014】次に本発明装置の作動要領を図3〜図7を
併せて参照して説明する。
【0015】先ず、第1リニアアクチュエータ4を収縮
させた状態でアーム3を下向きに回動させ、電熱線10
が組み込まれた加熱盤11を、燃料タンクTの開口12
の上方に位置させる。次いで第1リニアアクチュエータ
4を伸長させて燃料タンクTの開口12の周囲に加熱盤
11の下側の加熱面11bを当接させる。この時、第2
リニアアクチュエータ7は収縮させ、かつチャック6に
フィラーチューブ接続口Fを予め保持させておくものと
する。
【0016】次に第2リニアアクチュエータ7を伸長さ
せ、フィラーチューブ接続口Fを加熱盤11の貫通孔1
1aから燃料タンクT内に挿入する。そしてフィラーチ
ューブ接続口Fの軸方向中間部に形成されたフランジ1
3の下面を加熱盤11の上側の加熱面11bに当接させ
る。これにより、図3に示すように、燃料タンクTとフ
ランジ13との間に加熱盤11が挟み込まれた状態とな
る。この状態で、第2リニアアクチュエータ7の推力を
高圧(P1)に設定し、フランジ13と開口12の周囲
とを加熱盤11で加熱した状態を所定時間継続して開口
12の周囲とフランジ13との平行度が整う程度に互い
の接合面同士を面出し溶融する(図7の面出し過程)。
【0017】次に第2リニアアクチュエータ7の推力を
減少させ、例えば第2リニアアクチュエータ7の可動部
の自重(P2)のみが加わるようにする(図4参照)。
この状態を所定時間維持し、開口12の周囲とフランジ
13との接合面同士を溶着可能な程度に溶融する(図7
の溶融過程)。
【0018】次に第2リニアアクチュエータ7を収縮さ
せ、図5に示すように、タンクTからフィラーチューブ
接続口Fを引き出すと共に、第1リニアアクチュエータ
4を収縮させて加熱盤11を燃料タンクTの開口12の
周囲から引き離し、かつアーム3を上向きに旋回させて
加熱盤11を離脱させる(図7の離脱過程)。
【0019】次に第2リニアアクチュエータ7を伸長さ
せて図6に示すように、フィラーチューブ接続口Fをタ
ンクT内に再び挿入し、かつ第2リニアアクチュエータ
7の推力を低圧(P3)に設定した状態で開口12の周
囲にフランジ13を押し付ける。この状態を所定時間継
続し、両者の溶融部分を接着させ、かつ冷却固化させる
(図7の溶着過程)。
【0020】これらの工程が完了したならば、フィラー
チューブ接続口Fをチャック6から解放し、かつ第2リ
ニアアクチュエータ7を収縮させて溶着装置1を初期状
態に戻す。

【発明の効果】このように本発明によれば、アダプタを
介さずに被加熱面に加熱盤を直接接触させることができ
るので、加熱盤を小型化及び軽量化し得る。また被溶着
部品の押圧機構と被溶着部品を加熱盤から逃がすシフト
機構とを共用できる。従って、溶着装置の小型化が可能
となり、設備費用の低減並びにスペース効率の向上を推
進する上に多大な効果を奏することができる。

  1. 【請求項1】 熱可塑性合成樹脂材で形成された複数の
    部品を相互に溶着する溶着装置であって、 貫通孔の周囲に加熱面を備えた環状の加熱盤を有するこ
    とを特徴とする溶着装置。
  2. 【請求項2】 熱可塑性合成樹脂材で形成された複数の
    部品を相互に溶着する溶着装置であって、 貫通孔の周囲に加熱面を備えた環状の加熱盤を、半径方
    向スライド機構を備えた旋回アームで支持すると共に、 直線動アクチュエータで支持された被溶着部品の保持機
    構を、前記アームの回転中心軸と直交し且つ前記加熱盤
    の中心を通る平面上に配したことを特徴とする溶着装
    置。
