てきている。このような状況から特に有機系の廃棄物は
堆肥化処理が普及して来ている。代表的、平面発酵用堆
肥化装置として傾斜コンベヤ式とか農業用耕運機の羽根
型回転式等のものが使われていたが、前者は水分が高い
場合には混合、撹拌が不充分であり、後者は同じく水分
が高い場合には移送が不充分である等の問題があった。
即ち、そこで従来は初期含水率を50〜55%と低く抑
えるとか堆積高さを低くするとか、回転撹拌装置とコン
ベヤを組み合わせる等の対応を図っていた。しかしなが
ら、つぎの諸点から改良が望まれていた。 1)発酵槽へ供給された被処理物である有機系廃棄物と
種コンポストの混合物(発酵開始時)は約60%の水分
と高く、また発酵の終り時点では約30〜40%と低含
水率となっている。このように被処理物の水分が変化す
るため混合撹拌が確実に行い難いこと。 2)発酵槽内の被処理物の堆積高さは通常0.8m以上
で1.8mにも達する場合がある。この被処理物を撹拌
混合し、かつ移送しながら再堆積を行うことが出来るこ
と。しかも撹拌装置は簡単で維持管理が容易であるこ
と。特に回転装置だけで上記工程が出来、かつ維持管理
が容易なものが求められていた。2. を撹拌、混合、移送を兼ねた撹拌機により撹拌し、うね
の下から給気しながら、好気性微生物により発酵処理す
る平面発酵方式で撹拌機の回転羽根の形状を熊手状を単
位とし、かつ撹拌羽根を回転軸に対しおよそ接線方向に
取りつけたことを特徴とすることにある。第二の特徴構
成は、回転羽根の回転直径はおよそ、うねの高さの60
%以上とし、回転数は60rpm以上としたことを特徴
とすることにある。以下に作用及び効果につき説明す
る。上記第一特徴構成の撹拌、混合、移送を熊手状の撹
拌羽根を単位とし、かつその羽根を回転軸に対し接線方
向にすることによって次の作用及び効果が生ずる。熊手
状羽根について 羽根部材は個別羽根を回転軸に直接取り付ける場合
よりは細くできる。 熊手状単位とするために個別羽根方式よりは取り付
け、取り外し回数が減り、維持管理が容易となる。また
熊手状羽根を回転軸に対し接線方向に平行に取り付ける
ことによって 熊手状羽根の回転により被処理物をうねより掻きと
り(この時破砕も行われる。)熊手状羽根の上に乗せ、
かつ前記羽根の遠心力で移動(運搬)しながら、後方へ
放物線状に放り上げる操作が効果的に行いやすくなる。
この作用は羽根と羽根の間隔の調整によってより詳細に
述べるならば、羽根の幅を羽根と羽根との幅との比の調
整によって容易に可能である。上記第二の特徴構成によ
れば、撹拌装置の前方の被処理物を掻きとり前記撹拌装
置後方へ遠心力で放り上げ、撹拌装置前の被処理物の高
さを維持するように堆積することが出来るのである。こ
の掻き取り、移動、放り上げ、堆積の作業によって被処
理物の粉砕、混合、移動、撹拌再堆積を行うことが出来
るのであり、かつ被処理物の水分が60%前後から30
%前後に変化しても良好に被処理物の粉砕、混合、移
動、撹拌、再堆積が回転式撹拌装置のみで可能となるの
