Description
DISPOSITIVO E PROCEDIMENTO DI CONTROLLO DELLA LUNGHEZZA DI AGUGLIATA IN MACCHINE CUCITRICI CON PUNTO A FILZA DEVICE AND PROCEDURE FOR CHECKING THE NEEDLE LENGTH IN SEWING MACHINES WITH THREAD STITCH
----- -----
The present invention generically relates to a device and a relative method for controlling the length of needled punching in programmable sewing machines, specifically suitable for the creation of seams with so-called running stitch, which is generally adopted, for ornamental purposes, in ready-made clothes, particularly in the edging of the lapels of jackets, coats, skirts, as well as in the manufacture of trousers, handbags, gloves and similar items.
More particularly, the invention refers to a device and the relative procedure for determining, during sewing, how much needle punched thread remains, in order to adjust a tension group to obtain a more constant seam. for all the needle punched and / or determine the appearance at will.
Consequently, it is also possible to determine when the needle punch is ending and block the sewing machine, also obtaining a thread break alarm, in order to allow the insertion of a new needle punch and thus lighten the task of the sewing machine. ™ operator.
Notoriously, the running stitch is formed by a single thread, of a predetermined length (called needle punched), which crosses the edges of the fabric for its entire length, so as to be arranged alternately on the right and on the back of the garment that is sewn, so that the stitches, of variable and adjustable length, are alternately visible on one side and on the other side of the fabric being sewn.
Traditional sewing machines, which carry out stitching with running stitch, such as those described, for example, in the prior patent documents EP 1233094 and EP 1233095, basically employ a needle with a vertical axis, arranged perpendicularly to a support surface, where it rests the garment to be sewn.
The needle can be operated with an alternating motion along its axis, so that it cyclically crosses the garment to be sewn, carrying, from time to time and, alternatively, above and below the support surface, a loop of thread from the € ™ needle punched used for sewing.
An upper end of the needle punched thread is stapled on the garment being seamed, while the other end is left free and furthermore, below the support surface, there is a thread recovery wheel, arranged in a plane substantially parallel to the axis of the needle, which is composed of a fixed part, with a circular development, and a rotating part, which can be operated with a rotary motion and synchronized with the movement of the needle, with respect to the fixed part.
In the fixed part of the wheel there is a magazine for the collection of the recovered thread, while the rotating part peripherally carries a hook or lower looper, which, following the rotation of the wheel and the movement of the needle, hooks the buttonhole of thread brought below the support surface and retrieves the portion of thread that extends from the lower looper to the free end of the needle punch, passing it into the collection magazine.
An additional upper hook or crochet, which is arranged above the support surface, has the function of hooking the loop of thread carried by the needle above the support surface and of retaining it, while the thread is loaded in the magazine of the recovery wheel.
A major drawback of known type sewing machines with running stitch is the need to prepare a predefined needle punch of which, during the sewing phase, it is not possible to determine the remaining quantity.
This determines a particular attention or experience on the part of the operator, who must stop the machine before the needle punch ends, in order to insert a new one.
In fact, the sewing operation with running stitch of a garment is usually composed of more than one needle punched and it is therefore necessary to join several needle punches and this must take place before the end of the needle punched under processing.
Currently, however, the identification of this moment (i.e. just before the end of the needle punch) is entrusted, as mentioned, to the experience of the operator, who can exploit two possibilities: to see the thread in the moment in which it is on the upper looper or, considering the repeatability of the garments, you already know roughly in which point of the garment being worked the needle punch ends.
However, as already highlighted above, these two methodologies present obvious problems, the main one being the fact that the operator must absolutely be an expert in the sector and / or always relatively attentive to the condition of the needle punch.
For example, if the operator does not realize that he has finished the needle punch (especially when sewing in the same color), he will continue to sew and afterwards he will be forced to pick up the last stitches, with an evident waste of time.
Indeed, if this happens in a leather garment, you will have to be very careful also to pick up the holes of the non-sewn stitches, because, otherwise, the garment being worked could be discarded.
This currently happens, even if, during sewing, the needle punch breaks and, also in this case, the identification of the break is entrusted to the operator.
It should also be pointed out that the breaking of the needle punch can also be due to the insertion, by the operator, of a length that is too long or in any case incorrect of the same needle punch.
In order to overcome these drawbacks, some users use a stitch counter to determine when the needle punch is at the end.
However, it is an empirical system and applicable only if the garment to be sewn is repeatable by type of material and stitch length.
Finally, from the point of view of the seam, it is less and less tensioned as the needle punch wears out, unless the operator continues to act on the tension unit.
Within the scope of the above-mentioned requirements, the purpose of the present invention is to obviate the aforementioned drawbacks and, in particular, to provide a device for controlling the length of the needle punched in sewing machines with running stitch, which allows to avoid to the operator to pay part of his attention to visually checking the length of needle punched remaining during the sewing operation, in order to be able to employ even less experienced operators, with a saving of time and quality.
Another purpose of the present invention is that of realizing an extremely safe and reliable device for controlling the length of needled punching in sewing machines with running stitch, which allows to identify in a precise manner when the needle punched is almost at its end. , in order to allow the operator to make the union with a subsequent needle punch or to carry out the operation of fixing the needle punched already during sewing, thus obtaining a substantial saving of time and quality.
Another purpose of the invention is that of realizing a device for controlling the length of the needle punched in sewing machines with running stitch, which allows to identify any breakage of the needle punched. Another purpose of the present invention is to realize a needle punch length control device in running stitch sewing machines, which allows to highlight if the inserted needle punch is too long, which would cause it to break, with consequent waste of time.
A further object of the invention is to indicate a procedure for controlling the length of needle punched in running stitch sewing machines, which can be implemented by means of the above control device.
Not least object of the invention is that of realizing a device for controlling the length of the needle punched in running stitch sewing machines, which has a substantially simple construction structure and which can be produced at relatively low costs, with respect to the advantages achieved.
These and other objects are achieved by a device for controlling the length of needled punching in sewing machines with running stitch, according to the attached claim 1, and by a relative control method, according to the attached claim 7.
Other detailed characteristics of the device and of the control method in question are described in the subsequent claims.
Advantageously, the control device, object of the invention, is substantially composed of a matrix of optical fibers, which are inserted in the fixed crown of the sewing machine, where the thread runs during the construction of the lower stitch.
The device includes dedicated hardware and software, suitable for operating with the cycles of the sewing machine in question.
Furthermore, the device according to the invention can be interfaced with the upper and lower needle punch tensioning systems, in order to obtain a more homogeneous seam, compared to what can be obtained with traditional sewing machines with running stitch.
Infine, il dispositivo permette di individuare la rottura del filo e, quindi, funziona come sensore di rottura del filo Finally, the device allows to identify the wire break and, therefore, it works as a wire break sensor
Ulteriori scopi e vantaggi della presente invenzione saranno maggiormente evidenti dalla descrizione che segue, riferita ad una forma di realizzazione esemplificativa e preferita, ma non limitativa, del dispositivo di controllo della lunghezza di agugliata in macchine cucitrici con punto a filza e del procedimento relativo, secondo la presente invenzione, e dai disegni annessi, in cui: Further objects and advantages of the present invention will become more evident from the following description, referring to an exemplary and preferred, but not limiting, embodiment of the needle punched length control device in running stitch sewing machines and of the related process, according to the present invention, and from the accompanying drawings, in which:

Figure 10 shows a cross-sectional view of the fixed portion of Figure 8, according to the present invention.
With particular reference to the attached figures 1-6, in the sewing machines with running stitch of the traditional type, the needle punch, indicated generically with 1 in the attached figure 1, has a measure determined by the operator and the needle 3 of the sewing machine finishes sewing on the item being worked 6 (in correspondence with the stop point 5) when an `` uncontrolled needle punch end '' situation occurs, i.e. when the thread 4 of the needle punch 1 still has a predetermined size A (which is not sewn, as shown in the attached figure 1).
Normally, however, in a garment being worked (to be sewn) 6 there is not a single needlepunch 1, but a continuous sequence of needlepunches 1, that is to say a `` long needlepunch '' (about 80-90 cm) formed by many needled 1 and, in this case, there are various problems, such as those of constructing in a qualitatively correct way (i.e. respecting the geometry of the point) such â € œlong needledâ € and obtaining that the two or more needled ones are interconnected to avoid the decay.
A first method of joining two needle punches (indicated, respectively, with 1 and 2 in the attached figures 1-6) is shown in detail in the attached figures 3 and 4, while a further possible method of joining is shown in detail in the figures 5 and 6 attached.
To carry out the first method of joining the needles 1, 2 it is necessary first of all that a situation of `` controlled needling end '' occurs, such as the one illustrated in the attached figure 2, where the predetermined size B of the wire 4 from the stop point 5 à It is always greater than the pre-set measurement A (about 8-9 cm, for which the machine no longer sews).
This predetermined measure B is currently prepared by the operator, who, therefore, must rely on his own experience and forces him to pay the utmost attention, because he must always check the total size of needle punched to be loaded and also have a reference point of the garment being worked 6 in correspondence with which the needle punch is about to finish, or check continuously the thread 4 which passes over the upper looper.
This is further problematic, also taking into account that the consumption of the needle punch, in addition to being conditioned by the length of the stitch, also depends very much on the thickness of the material of the garment 6 to be sewn.
The control device according to the invention, obviating the above mentioned drawbacks, directly indicates to the operator that the thread tail 4 of the needle punch is close to the predetermined size A (indicated in the attached figure 1) and, therefore, before that this measure A is reached, the sewing machine is blocked, allowing one of the two methods of joining the needle punched to be carried out.
Furthermore, the device allows to identify a possible wire break 4 and, therefore, it also functions as a wire break sensor 4.
In the case of joining the needle punches 1 and 2 according to the method of the attached figures 3 and 4, the control device according to the invention identifies the predetermined size B of the needle punch 4 and stops the machine in needle condition 3 high and ready to be loaded with a new needle punched by the operator, who can then start sewing again by overlapping the needle punched 2 and the needle punched 1 for a number of stitches for a stretch 12 random and determined, as far as the needle punch 1 is concerned, by the difference between the prefixed measurements A and B. In the case of joining the needle punches 1 and 2 according to the method in figures 5 and 6, the control device, object of the Invention, behaves in the same way, but, in this case, it will be the operator who, when the sewing machine stops, will unload the thread 4 of the needle punch 1 from the needle 3, free the fabric of the garment 6 from the sewing foot of needle 3, will position needle 3 at the end again ne of one of the previously performed stitches, he will load needle punch 2 and start sewing again with the latter, which surmounts needle punch 1, in the latter case and unlike the previous joining method, for a number of points that is chosen by the same operator. In practice, the control device, according to the invention, is made using matrixes of optical fibers and / or photocells, of the transmitter / receiver type, generically indicated with 7 in the attached figures 7-10, which are positioned along the path of the thread 4 and which, in preferred and exemplary but not limiting embodiments, are applied inside the fixed portion 8 of the wheel 9, the latter suitable for the recovery of the thread 4 and arranged in a plane substantially parallel to the Axis of needle 3.
The wheel 9 substantially comprises the fixed portion 8 and a mobile portion 10, which can be operated with a rotary motion around its axis, with respect to the fixed portion 8, in a manner synchronized with the movement of the needle 3.
In particular, the fixed portion 8 of the wheel 9 has a circular development with an interruption along its development, located near the working area of the needle 3, while the mobile portion 10 of the wheel 9 peripherally carries a hook or rotary hook 11, located below the support surface of the sewing machine, which can be engaged with the loop of thread 4 cyclically carried by the needle 3 below the support surface, to recover the needle punched portion of thread 4 which extends from needle 3 to the free end of the needle punch and its loading inside the collection compartments of the fixed portion 8 of the wheel 9.
More specifically, the compartments for collecting the recovered yarn 4 comprise two tracks 12, 13, with circular development, adjacent and communicating with each other, which extend for the entire length of the fixed portion 8 of the wheel 9 and which are open in correspondence of the interruption of the fixed portion 8.
The tracks 12, 13 are separated by a relief, but are in any case in communication with each other, in such a way as to allow the thread 4, inserted in the opening following the rotation of the hook or rotary hook 11, to pass from one track to the € ™ other at each stitch construction cycle.
The matrixes 7 of optical fibers, covered by a thread guide plate 17, employ transmission and reception photocells 14, 15 for the detection of the thread 4, through the reading beam 16, and are interfaced to a digital signal amplifier, which, in turn, is connected to a control panel of a PC equipped with a suitable control application software program.
Since inside the fixed portion 8 of the wheel 9 the wire 4 runs cyclically and alternately, integrating the electronics of the control device according to the invention with the application software of the control panel, which also allows to manage the â € œmasterâ € and â € œslaveâ € motors of the sewing machine, it is possible to link the presence of the thread 4 inside the tracks 12, 13 of the wheel 9 with the degrees of rotation of the aforementioned wheel 9 .
In particular, the identification of the thread 4 at certain moments of the two stitch composition cycles made by the sewing machine above and below the fabric of the garment being processed 6 allows the control device, through the dedicated software program, to stop the machine in the stop positions indicated with 5 in the attached figures 1-6 with the pre-set length of wire 4 equal to B.
In particular, the dedicated application software, on the basis of the data collected and following an appropriate processing of the same, makes it possible to report the remaining needle punched line, suggest the insertion of a new needle punch and signal the breaking of the needle punched line.
Furthermore, it may also be possible to signal and correct a needle punch length greater than a maximum allowed value and / or vary the positions of the â € œslaveâ € motors which modify the tension of the needle punch and possibly the stitch length and / or activate a fastening function (forward and backward) and / or obtaining a determination of the needle punch to be inserted (currently entrusted to the operatorâ € ™ s experience).
In practice it has been found that the needle punch length control device in running stitch sewing machines, according to the present invention, fully accomplishes the intended task, as it is able to offer absolute versatility of operation, avoiding the need for the operator to stop and sew before the needle punch ends (and possibly near the end of the needle punch) and having to thread a new predefined needle punch, which, during sewing, does not It is possible to know the remaining quantity, automatically determining when the needle punch is ending and blocking the sewing machine at that moment, in order to allow the operator to insert a new needle punch and also obtain a break alarm of the thread.
From the above description the characteristics of the needle punched length control device, which is the object of the present invention, are clear, as well as the advantages. Finally, it is clear that it is also possible to introduce further manufacturing variants to the control device in question, without departing from the principles underlying the inventive idea, just as it is possible that, in the practical implementation of the invention, the materials, the shapes and the dimensions can be chosen according to the technical requirements.
