Description
"Macchina per la pulitura e la cernitura di nocciole" "Machine for cleaning and sorting hazelnuts"
DESCRIZIONE DESCRIPTION
The present invention refers to a machine for cleaning and sorting hazelnuts, that is to say a machine having the function of separating the hazelnuts from waste material and impurities, such as in particular foliage, which is inevitably collected together with the hazelnuts, both in the case of manual harvesting and in the case of mechanical harvesting, and must be carefully separated from these, as well as the function of sorting the hazelnuts, that is the separation of the empty hazelnuts from the full ones.
Machines for cleaning and sorting hazelnuts are known which, at least as regards the sorting function, exploit an air current to separate the empty from the full hazelnuts. The air flow is suitably adjusted to support the empty hazelnuts, but not such as to make the full hazelnuts float and remove. Typically, the separation of empty hazelnuts from full ones is carried out using cyclone devices and thus also exploiting the centrifugal effect. The machines currently available on the market are rather bulky, complex and above all expensive machines, and are therefore economically sustainable only for large productions of hazelnuts. To date, there are no machines on the market for cleaning and sorting hazelnuts that are economically advantageous even for small hazelnut producers.
The purpose of the present invention is therefore to propose a machine for cleaning and sorting hazelnuts that is compact, simple to use, inexpensive both in terms of purchase costs and in terms of management and maintenance costs and which, despite its simplicity, is however able to ensure a high quality of cleaning and sorting.
This and other purposes are fully achieved according to the present invention thanks to a machine for cleaning and sorting hazelnuts having the characteristics specified in the attached independent claim 1.
Advantageous embodiments of the invention are the subject of the dependent claims, the content of which is to be understood as an integral and integral part of the following description.
The characteristics and advantages of the invention will emerge from the detailed description that follows, given purely by way of non-limiting example with reference to the attached drawings, in which:

A machine for cleaning and sorting hazelnuts according to the present invention basically comprises a cleaning station, indicated as a whole with 10 in figures 1 and 2, and a sorting station, generally indicated with 12 in figures 7 and 8.
With reference initially to figures 1 to 6, the cleaning station 10 will be described in detail, having the function of cleaning the hazelnuts, i.e. separating all those waste materials and impurities from the hazelnuts, such as for example foliage, earth , twigs, small stones, etc., which are inevitably collected together with the hazelnuts.
The cleaning station 10 comprises a collection area (or entrance area) 14, an exit area 16 and a cleaning device 18 which extends in length (longitudinal direction of the machine, hereinafter referred to simply as longitudinal direction ) between the collection area 14 and the exit area 16.
The collection area 14, which can be observed in detail in the view of Figure 3, comprises a collection container 20 intended to house the collected hazelnuts, including the waste materials and the impurities present together with them. The collection container 20 includes a bottom wall 22 in which a plurality of slots 24 are provided which extend parallel to each other and parallel to the longitudinal direction of the station 10 and are arranged equidistant from each other so as to cover the entire width of the container. Inside the slots 24 there are prongs 26 which are part of a comb (not shown), which is controlled by a movement unit (described later) to move with reciprocating motion along the longitudinal direction. The collection container 20 also comprises, on the side facing the cleaning device 18 and towards the outlet area 16, a perforated vertical wall 28. Thanks to the back and forth movement of the prongs 26 along the slits 24 of the bottom wall 22 , the hazelnuts accumulated (and for example continuously fed by a suitable feeding device, which is not the subject of the present application) in the collection container 20 are gradually advanced, together with the slag and impurities, towards the cleaning device 18 passing through the holes in the vertical wall 28.
With reference in particular to Figures 4 and 5, the cleaning device 18 comprises a pair of grids 30 and 32, respectively upper and lower, which are arranged parallel to each other and extend inclined downwards from the collection area. 14 to the outlet area 16. The upper grid 30 is stationary, being fixed to a support structure 34 of the cleaning station 10. As can be seen in Figures 1 and 2, the support structure 34 is advantageously provided with wheels 36 for allow easy movement of the cleaning station 10. More specifically, the upper grid 30 comprises a frame 38 which is hung on a pair of crosspieces 40 of the support structure 34 by means of screws 42, by means of which it is also possible to adjust the vertical position of this grid and therefore its distance from the underlying lower grid 32. One of the screws 42 is shown in detail in figure 5. The lower grid 32 is mo alternating motion along the aforementioned longitudinal direction, in such a way that on the one hand, due to the inclination of the two grids and on the other hand, due to the relative movement between the two grids, the hazelnuts coming from the collection area 14 are made to advance towards the exit area 16 and at the same time the slags and impurities present together with the hazelnuts are largely removed. At the exit of the cleaning device 18 there will be almost completely clean hazelnuts, that is to say with a minimum content of slag and impurities. The lower grid 32 is arranged to slide within suitable guides (not shown) provided on the support structure 34. The aforementioned reed is fixed to the lower grid 32, in such a way that the reed is moved back and forth together with the grid. 32. The alternating movement of the lower grid 32, and with it of the comb, is controlled by the above-mentioned movement unit, which is shown in part in figure 6, where it is generally indicated with 44. With reference to figure 6 , the movement unit 44 basically comprises an electric motor (not shown), a reducer constituted in the example illustrated by a plurality of pulleys 46 driven by belts 48 by the electric motor, a control wheel 50 integral in rotation to the output pulley 46 of the reducer and a connecting rod 52 articulated at one end thereof to the control wheel 50 at a point P of the wheel distant from the axis of rotation and of the wheel itself and connected to the opposite end to the lower grid 32, in such a way that by means of the connecting rod 52 the rotary movement transmitted to the control wheel 48 by means of the pulleys 46 forming part of the reducer is converted into reciprocating motion of the lower grid 32 , and therefore of the reed with the respective prongs 26. Naturally, the movement unit could differ from the one described and illustrated here, it being understood that this unit must be configured in such a way as to control an alternating movement of the lower grid in the longitudinal direction, or more generally a relative alternating movement between the two grids.
The exit area 16 of the cleaning station 10 (observable only in figure 2) comprises a chute 54 through which the hazelnuts coming out of the cleaning device 18 are conveyed by gravity into a collection container 56 (see figures 7 and 8) of the next sorting station 12.
With reference now to figures 7 to 10, the sorting station 12 will be described in detail, having the function of sorting the hazelnuts, that is to separate the empty hazelnuts from the full ones. The sorting station 12 comprises a support structure 58, advantageously provided with wheels 60, on which the aforementioned collection container 56 and a conveyor belt 62 are mounted (in order from the entry area to the exit area of this station) . The collection container 56 has the function of receiving the hazelnuts coming from the cleaning station 10 (or alternatively, if there is no cleaning station upstream from the sorting station, the hazelnuts coming directly from a silo or other container). The conveyor belt 62 extends in the longitudinal direction and is controlled by a respective handling unit (of a per se known type), of which an electric motor 64 is visible in figure 7. The conveyor belt 62 is wound around a rollers 66 positioned in such a way that the belt comprises, in the order from the entrance to the exit of the sorting station 12, a first section 62a inclined upwards and an adjacent second horizontal section 62b. The conveyor belt 62 is associated, in a per se known manner, with a tensioning device to allow the tension of the belt itself to be adjusted. The electric motor 64 which controls the conveyor belt 62 is also arranged to drive one or more agitator devices (not shown) housed inside the collection container 56. These stirring devices have the function of moving the hazelnuts present in the collection container 56 thus favoring their exit onto the conveyor belt 62 and each comprise a rotating shaft equipped with fingers or similar radial projections.
As shown in detail in Figure 10, the conveyor belt 62 forms on its outer face (ie the face constantly facing outwards of the closed ring formed by the belt itself) a plurality of teeth 72 arranged in transverse rows. Each row of teeth is spaced from the two adjacent rows of teeth by a certain pitch p. The pitch p is preferably constant along the entire conveyor belt 62 and is of the order of a few centimeters (in particular 2 cm in the illustrated embodiment example). The pitch p and the longitudinal dimension of the teeth 72 are chosen so that the distance, considered in the longitudinal direction, that is in the direction of advancement of the belt, between a tooth of a row and a tooth of the adjacent row is such as to allow only one hazelnut. Furthermore, the teeth 72 of each row are spaced from each other by a distance approximately equal to (or in any case of the order of) the width or transverse dimension of the teeth themselves. Such a configuration of the teeth 72 of the conveyor belt 62 allows to thin out the hazelnuts that are deposited on the belt itself, thus facilitating the sorting of the empty hazelnuts and the residues present together with them. Conveyor belt 62 is made, or at least coated, of rubber or other similar material. As shown in particular in Figures 7 and 8, the sorting station 12 also comprises a suction unit 74 having the function of sucking up the empty hazelnuts and any slag or impurities still present together with the hazelnuts transported by the conveyor belt, thus separating them from the full hazelnuts. The suction unit 74 comprises a suction opening 76 arranged above the conveyor belt 62, in particular in correspondence with the horizontal section 62b of the belt itself, and extending for the entire width (transverse dimension) of the conveyor belt itself, a first duct 78 connected at one end to the suction nozzle 76 and at the opposite end to a closed container 80 for collecting the empty hazelnuts and residues sucked up through the suction nozzle 76, a suction fan 82, an electric motor 84 designed to drive the suction fan 82, and a second duct 86 which connects the suction fan 82 to the container 80 so as to create a vacuum in the first duct 78, which is also connected to the container 80, and thus obtain the desired effect suction of the empty hazelnuts and slag from the conveyor belt 62 through the nozzle 76. The suction power of the gr suction unit 74 and the distance between the suction nozzle 76 and the horizontal section 62b of the conveyor belt 62 are suitably chosen so as to ensure that only the empty hazelnuts and any slag or impurities still present together with the hazelnuts and having a lower weight to that of the full hazelnuts are sucked by the suction nozzle 76 and collected as waste in the container 80. The suction nozzle 76 is fixed to the support structure 58 of the sorting station 12. The first and second ducts 78 and 86 are preferably made as flexible pipes. Inside the second duct 86, for example in correspondence with the connection of this duct to the container 80, there is advantageously provided a protection grid (not shown) having the function of preventing the empty hazelnuts and the slag and impurities sucked through the suction nozzle 76 reaches the suction fan 82 and may risk damaging it. The container 80 and the assembly formed by the suction fan 82 and by the electric motor 84 are preferably mounted on a suitable support structure 88, which is distinct from the support structure 58 and is also provided with wheels 90 for can be suitably positioned with respect to the support structure 58. The container 80 is preferably supported by the support structure 88 so as to be able to oscillate around a horizontal rotation axis, defined for example by a pair of pins 92 (only one of which It can be seen in figure 8) fixed to the container 80 on diametrically opposite sides thereof, so as to be able to be tilted during emptying and thus facilitate this operation.
As you will understand in the light of the above description, the particular conformation and arrangement of the teeth of the conveyor belt allows on the one hand the suction unit to carry out a very selective and reliable suction, with which all and only the empty hazelnuts ( including any slag and impurities still present) are sucked away, and on the other hand to prevent the hazelnuts transported by the conveyor belt from getting stuck at the base of the suction nozzle. According to the invention, therefore, all (or in any case a fraction very close to 100%) the full hazelnuts continue their run on the conveyor belt until they fall by gravity, at the exit end of the sorting station 12, in a special container. or collection container or in another conveyor belt or similar transport device, while all empty hazelnuts and any slag or impurities still present are sucked through the suction nozzle 76, unless it is slag or impurities of comparable weight with that of full hazelnuts (such as in the case of small stones or earth residues).
The machine according to the invention also has a simple and compact structure, easily transportable and maintainable, as well as inexpensive, and therefore lends itself to be used effectively and profitably even in the case of small quantities of hazelnuts to be treated.
Naturally, the principle of the invention remaining the same, the embodiments and construction details may be widely varied with respect to what has been described and illustrated purely by way of non-limiting example, without thereby departing from the scope of the invention as defined in the attached claims.
For example, as mentioned above, the initial cleaning station could also be omitted, in which case the sorting station would receive the hazelnuts (from a collection container such as a silo, or from a feeding device such as a conveyor belt) directly as collections. Such an alternative configuration of the machine according to the invention is clearly less expensive than the one described above, but its effectiveness depends on the cleanliness level of the hazelnuts collected. According to such a configuration, although a specific cleaning station is not provided, the cleaning function, ie the removal of slag and impurities from the hazelnuts, will in any case be carried out by suction from the sorting station.
