Abstract

A ski touring or telemark boot (1) having a shell (2), a shank (4) hinged to the shell (2), and a shank clamping mechanism for selectively connecting the shank (4) mechanically to the shell (2) to limit relative movement of the shank (4) with respect to the shell (2) in predetermined manner; the shank clamping mechanism has a shank fastening and clamping device (14) for selectively fastening the shank (4) to immobilize the lower part of the user's leg inside the boot, while at the same time allowing selection of the type of mechanical constraint between the shank (4) and the shell (2). <IMAGE>
