Description
STRUTTURA DI SOSTEGNO PER TENDA SUPPORT STRUCTURE FOR TENT
CAMPO DELL’INVENZIONE FIELD OF INVENTION
The present invention refers to a support structure for awning or other equivalent protective element. In particular, it refers to a structure for awning for protecting glass verandas or pergolas from the sun or rain. The supporting structure for awning according to the present invention is characterized in that it comprises special means for moving the awning itself.
STATO DELLA TECNICA STATE OF THE TECHNIQUE
Various supporting structures for awnings are known from the state of the art. For example, support structures are known comprising two lateral supports, one right and one left, substantially straight and defining a longitudinal direction corresponding to the opening and closing direction of said awning, which protrude starting from the ends of a tube or winding roller, transversal with respect to said lateral supports. This winding roller can be equipped with a motor or a manual movement winch for the movement of the curtain itself, which is obtained by means of two pulleys or spools placed at the end of said roller for the winding / unwinding of a rope for handling said awning. A pulley is preferably provided at each of the two ends of said roller for winding a separate section of rope.
Furthermore, in the support structures known from the state of the art, suitable references are provided to the ends of the guides. Each of said transmissions is suitable for returning the rope within a trolley, one for each lateral support, equipped with first wheels for the sliding of a terminal profile, which encloses the distal end of the curtain, on said longitudinal guides, and of a second roller to deflect the rope inside said terminal profile.
One or two springs are then provided inside the terminal profile, at the ends of which said cables are fixed after having been partially tensioned manually, for example by means of winches of various kinds. During operation, by rolling up the curtain, the two lateral spools yield the rope, while by unrolling the curtain the spools recall the rope by winding it on them.
However, such support structures have several disadvantages. In particular, as mentioned in known systems, the cables are wound in the side reels of the winding tube. Around the reel the rope winds in a spiral for a first stretch, while when the first stretch has filled the base of the reels, the second series of winding turns overlaps the first. In this phase, however, the second section of the rope does not settle precisely over the first section, but the coils of the second section can noisily fall into the underlying space existing between one coil and the other of the first section wound directly on the spool, filling any empty spaces. The noise created by the fall of the coils of the rope in the space below is comparable to a strong beat, as said ropes are in tension and therefore the forces involved are not irrelevant, and moreover this noise is amplified by the containment caisson. of the spools, which acts as a sound box.
Another drawback deriving from the use of ropes for handling structures of a known type is given by the fact that the spiral winding of the strings in the right spool never matches the winding in the left spool, the possibility that coils of the second section of rope fall onto the reel and occupy the empty space existing between two coils of the first section, being completely random. The random winding of the two sections of string in the right and left spools creates a different elongation of the right and left springs, and a consequent difference in the retention of the two strings and, lastly, an imperfect setting of the support structure itself.
Yet another drawback that afflicts known supporting structures consists in the fact that, even if the ropes are reinforced with an internal core made up of Kevlar threads, after a series of opening and closing cycles of the curtain, said ropes tend to stretch, yielding to the traction of the springs. This sagging of the rope in length cancels the tensioning effect of the awning canvas. Through experimental observation it was found that this elongation occurs already after a number of cycles of about 600-700, corresponding to a period of normal use of about two years. This limit is considered unacceptable when compared with the warranty period, generally equal to at least two years, that companies issue on the product.
The main aim of the present invention is therefore to provide a support structure for curtains which allows to eliminate or at least reduce the drawbacks that afflict known structures.
Within the scope of this task, the object of the present invention is to provide a support structure for curtains or similar covering elements capable of solving the problem of noise during the movement of the structure itself. It is also an object of the present invention to provide a support structure for curtains or the like capable of solving the problem of the loss of tension of the curtain due to the lengthening of the cords.

DESCRIZIONE DETTAGLIATA DETAILED DESCRIPTION
With particular reference to the aforementioned figures, the support structure 1 according to the present invention comprises a winding roller 2 at the two opposite ends of which spools 3 are constrained for winding a section of non-toothed belt indicated with the reference number 4 . Due to the symmetry of the structure, at each end of said winding roller 2 there is a reel 3 for winding a section of belt 4. The winding roller 2 is contained in a transversal box C supported at the ends by support elements C1 and closed by a lid C2. The winding roller 2 is moved by means of a cylindrical motor M coaxial to the roller itself. Figure 1 is an exploded view of a support structure 1 according to the present invention and allows to observe a possible configuration of the elements according to the present invention whose functionality is described in detail in Figures 4 to 10.
Figure 2 is a view relating to a modular roofing system comprising two support structures 1A, 1B according to the present invention mutually side by side on one side. Each of these comprises a movement motor M designed to move the winding roller 2 of the relative structure. In this way the movement of the curtain of one structure 1A is independent of the movement of the other structure 1B. The transversal boxes 2 of the two structures 1A, 1B are mutually connected at one end thereof by means of a junction and support element E. This supports both winding rollers 1 leaving them mutually independent in terms of movement. The free end of each box C is completed by means of a support element C1 and a relative cover C2 as in the solution of figure 1.
Figure 3 shows a modular covering system which differs from that of Figure 2 in that it comprises a single motor M designed to move the winding roller 2 of both support structures 1A, 1B. In practice, through this solution the curtains of the two structures 1A, 1B move synchronously. In order to allow this functionality, the joint and support element E includes a transmission sleeve E2 which transfers the motion from the winding roller 2 directly driven by the motor M to the other roller allowing a synchronous rotation of the two rollers.
The support structure 1 is shown in detail in Figures 4 to 10, and is described below, with reference to only one side of the structure itself due to its symmetry with respect to a longitudinal median plane.
A longitudinal guide element 10 is stably constrained to each of the two ends of said winding roller 2. The end edge of said curtain is constrained to a transverse end element 8 slidingly associated with said longitudinal guide elements 10.
The non-toothed belt 4 is constrained to slide inside the respective longitudinal guide element 10 up to a transmission, consisting of a pulley 5, placed at the end of said longitudinal guide 10. The non-toothed belt 4 is suitable to be wound in the reel 3, each turn overlapping the previous one, without spiral windings.
When exiting the spool 3, the non-toothed belt 4 runs along the longitudinal guide 10 up to the end transmission 5, from which the belt itself returns to a carriage 7 slidingly associated with the internal side of said longitudinal guide element 10 and supporting a second pulley of transmission 6 from which said belt 4, by means of a further transmission, is returned to the tensioning means 20. Said carriage 7 supports the transversal end element 8 which constrains the edge of the curtain. Advantageously, said tensioning means 20 are housed inside said transverse element 8, and consist of a pre-tensioned spiral spring.
With particular reference to Figure 2, the belt 4 is connected to the spring 20 by means of connection means 30 suitable for allowing a cylindrical joint between the two elements, belt and spring. In particular, said connection means comprise a cylindrical hinge 30 constituted, in the example described here, by a first element 31, comprising a transmission pulley 32, hinged by means of a pin 33, visible for example in Figure 4, to a second element 21, rotatable around the axis of said pin 33 with respect to said first element 31. The element 21 is then connected to the spring 20. The pulley 32 rotates around a central axis A substantially perpendicular to the axis of the pin 33, which coincides with the rotation axis of element 21 with respect to element 32.
In this way, thanks to the tension of the belt 4 on the pulley 32 and the force exerted by the spring 20 on the element 21, the cylindrical hinge 30 does not come into contact with the internal walls of said end element 8 in which it is contained, and any twisting of the belt 4 is canceled out by the relative rotation of the elements 21 and 31 around the axis of the pin 33.
This solution has proved extremely effective in solving the problem of the correct positioning of the belt 4 with respect to the transmission pulleys. In fact, as is evident from the observation of the figures, the belt 4 coming out of the reel 3 of the winding roller 2 is returned by the pulley 5 at the end of the guide to return towards the carriage 7. The rotation axis of the reel 3 is substantially perpendicular to the axis of rotation 5A of the guide end pulley 5, therefore the belt 4 twists by 90 degrees between the reel 3 and the pulley 5, and then continues towards the next pulley 6 supported by the carriage 7. Since the support structure 1 according to the present invention is suitable to be installed indifferently in such a way that the awning, once opened, is in a vertical position, in a horizontal position, or in any position inclined with respect to the horizontal, it appears evident as between the pulley 6 and the spring 20 the belt 4 could, due to the effect of gravity, incline with respect to the optimal position identified by the pulley 6 itself, with the consequent result of a malfunction due to increased belt-pulley friction, due to excessive wear of the belt, or even due to the belt coming out of the transmission pulley 6. All these problems have been solved by providing the cylindrical joint 30.
Furthermore, the present invention has aimed at perfecting the shape of the pulleys in order to optimize the operation of the non-toothed belt 4. In particular, a problem afflicting the non-toothed belt-pulley coupling is that linked to the non-perfect alignment of the belt itself in the pulley seat. In particular, when the support structure is extended in a horizontal position or inclined with respect to the horizontal direction by an angle of up to 45 degrees, the belt 4 tends to slide downwards by gravity, deteriorating due to rubbing against the edges of the pulleys.
In order to obviate this drawback, all the pulleys 5, 6 and 32 according to the present invention have a concave seat for receiving the belt, preferably with a concavity of about 0.4 mm. In this way the central axis of the belt remains at the exact center of the pulley, allowing to obtain a considerable improvement in the reliability of the system, this being measured in number of movement cycles of the awning.
With particular reference to figures 5, 7, 8 and 10, the means for moving the support structure 1 according to the present invention can provide that the belt 4 is returned only once by the pulley 32 of the connection means 30, the belt subsequently coming stopped by the stop element 40 which actually creates an eyelet close to the pulley 32 itself.
The alternative embodiments shown in Figures 6 and 9 show a solution in which the belt 4 is returned from the pulley 32 back to the carriage 7. From the carriage 7, by means of another transmission indicated with the reference number 9, the belt returns to Terminal transverse element 8 on which it is fixed stably, for example by means of a plate 11 and one or more rivets or screws or similar fastening means. In this way, a hoist is created which is capable of reducing the forces acting on the tensioning means.
The first preferred embodiment of the present invention, illustrated in figures 5, 7, 8 and 10, is therefore suitable for making curtains of variable dimensions, up to a maximum length of the guides of about 500 cm and a maximum width of the curtain of about 500. cm. In fact, as is known as the length of the longitudinal guides 10 increases, or rather as the length of the awning increases, the number of revolutions that the awning completes on the winding roller 2 also increases. Consequently, the traction force exerted by the belts 4 on the tensioning means constituted by the springs 20 is greater and therefore their deformation, ie elongation, is greater, with the same parameters as the other parameters of the springs. The limit on the maximum width of the awning is therefore determined by the maximum effort and elongation of the springs.
In order to be able to overcome this limit, the support structure according to the present invention can conveniently provide that the belt 4 forms a real hoist between the trolley 7 and the tensioning means 20, as shown by way of example in figures 6 and 9. This double transmission solution allows to considerably reduce the elongation of the springs 20 while increasing the dimensions of the curtain. Thanks to this expedient it is possible to realize larger awnings, in particular reaching, with the same number of springs used, a guide length of about 600 cm and a width of the same 600 cm. With this double transmission configuration, the springs are subjected to less traction and therefore to less deformation, which is reflected in a lower effort required to move the structure itself and in a lower pre-tensioning of the springs at the time of installation. The pre-tensioning is obtained by loading the springs, usually carried out manually by means of winches of various kinds. The operatorâ € ™ s discomfort is therefore high since, in addition to physical effort, several attempts must be made before obtaining a correct tension of the awning, therefore requiring a lower pre-tensioning of the springs 20 entails an immediate and evident advantage in terms of difficulty in installing and setting up the structure. As a contraindication, however, the lower tension of the springs 20 is reflected in a lower tension of the awning fabric which therefore remains softer. The lower tension of the tent can be a problem, as for example the tent can form a pocket that fills with water in case of rain. This problem can be solved by providing for the application of one or more transversal rollers FT (see figure 1) placed between said longitudinal guides 10 between said winding roller 2 and said terminal transverse element 8. Said transversal rollers are called â € œframeâ € in how much they interrupt the stretch of curtain between the winder roller 2 and the transverse element 8. The awning runs resting on said transversal break rollers without creating pockets.
It has thus been shown how the support structure for curtains or the like according to the present invention achieves the intended aim and objects.
In particular, it has been shown how the support structure for curtains according to the present invention allows to solve the drawbacks left unresolved by the solutions known from the state of the art.
In particular, it has been shown how the support structure according to the present invention allows to solve the problem of the noise of the movement means of known type, generally constituted by ropes or chains.
Furthermore, the support structure according to the present invention also solves the problem that afflicts the means for moving structures of a type known from the state of the art, i.e. the elongation and therefore the loss of pre-tensioning of the ropes after a certain number, considered unsatisfactory, of operating cycles. In particular, the cords used in known structures can be internally reinforced with kevlar fibers, however known cords generally have a round section, which due to the tension exerted by the springs on the rope itself deforms becoming substantially oval. With the crushing of the section of the rope, the pre-tensioning effect exerted by the springs is canceled over time. The effect is twofold: on the one hand the strings are easily deformed and give way under the traction action, on the other hand the crushing or ovalization of the section of the strings means that when the string is wound in the reels it results in a smaller radial encumbrance with equal winding turns compared to an undeformed rope, which further worsens the situation by further decreasing the pre-tensioning of the rope itself due to the presence of the springs. The support structure according to the present invention, adopting a non-toothed belt for the movement of the curtain itself, therefore solves at the same time the problem of the noise of known systems and of the elongation, the belt does not present the problem of loss of tension associated with the ovalization of the section. Furthermore, the problem of elongation is eliminated, in the present invention, also thanks to the fact of providing, in the belts, a volume of Kevlar reinforcing fibers approximately 10-15% higher than the volume of the Kevlar fibers present in the ropes. employed in the state of the art.
Still, an object achieved by the support structure for curtains according to the present invention is to have optimized the operation of the tensioning means by adopting concave seat pulleys, thus obtaining less wear of the belts due to rubbing in particular conditions which prove to be critical. for the reliability of the system.
Last but not least, a further advantage achieved by the support structure according to the present invention consists in the possibility of reducing the pre-tensioning exerted by the springs, with the same dimensions of the awning and the same characteristic parameters of the springs, thus managing to reduce the efforts necessary for pre-tensioning the springs.
