Abstract

The method involves reading the primary speed limit information (138a) with respect to selected distance, from primary data communication channel (130) in a data combining unit (120) of the navigation device (110). The secondary speed limit information (138b) regarding selected path is read from secondary data transmission channel (140). The primary data communication channel is physically independent from the secondary communication channel. The primary speed limit information is linked to secondary speed limit information to obtain speed alarm information (160) for the distance. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) data processing device for providing speed alarm information for navigation apparatus; and (2) computer program for providing speed alarm information for navigation apparatus.
