DESCRIZIONE del brevetto per invenzione industriale avente per titolo: “Giunto di derivazione e sicurezza per impianti di irrigazione a goccia nelle colture arboree, viticole e simili del tipo con alimentazione a livello radicale” DESCRIPTION of the patent for industrial invention entitled: "Junction and safety joint for drip irrigation systems in tree, vine and similar crops of the root-fed type"
TESTO DELLA DESCRIZIONE TEXT OF THE DESCRIPTION
The present invention relates to systems for drip irrigation of tree and vine crops by means of flexible plastic pipes, usually with a diameter of 16 mm, which form the irrigation water supply manifolds at a predetermined pressure, which they are made to pass in an aerial or underground arrangement, in correspondence with the crops and to which self-compensating dripping systems are connected that provide the quantity of water necessary for the sustenance and growth of the plant.
The drip systems currently most used are those of the so-called "dripline" and "button" type.
The "dripline" one is characterized by the presence of dispensing elements previously incorporated in the same manifold pipe, with a fixed and predetermined spacing, which deliver the water releasing it at ground level, while the "button" type ones are equipped with a tip conical-shaped attachment hole through which they can be inserted by pressure and seal in a hole made on the collector pipe and can disperse water directly to the ground or can be equipped with a drain spout in which a flexible tube of small diameter for powering a rod or other type of earth electrode.
For the "wing" drippers, there are currently no other channeling systems than that of releasing the water at ground level or slightly below, along a row of plants, where this will find its time and its final use through the permeability of the ground.
The water saving that the two systems described above guarantee has been calculated by the experts in about 50% of the values previously achieved with the old "sprinkler" systems.
All these known surface irrigation systems involve a large dispersion of water, which in summer largely evaporates before it has time to reach the roots in depth.
From the Italian patent application No. GE2009A000072 filed on 09.18.2009 in the name of the same owner, an irrigation system for tree crops fed underground at the root level is known in order to reduce as much as possible the evaporation resulting from surface irrigation and bring the water directly where you need it and in the quantity you need.
The system including an irrigation water supply manifold; funnel-shaped elements each equipped with a long stem, designed to be driven into the ground from the ground level up to the level of the root system of the plant to be irrigated; in which tubes branch off from said collector and extend to the inside of said funnel-shaped elements, so as to feed the irrigation water directly within said stem up to the roots of the tree to be irrigated.
The use of such a system entails numerous advantages over traditional systems. In fact, preventing water from stagnating in the open air, prey to evaporation, competing weeds and dispersal in areas of no interest, involves a whole series of advantages, such as great water savings; the non-proliferation of weeds and brambles that steal water and nutrients from the plant in cultivation and, as a natural consequence of the elimination of weeds and brambles, the elimination of a possible use of dangerous herbicides, all advantages that ultimately translate into considerable savings economic.
However, even this well-known irrigation system, while presenting undoubted advantages compared to other systems of the known art, when used to disperse water directly into the ground, over time tends to accumulate dirt in the small drainage channels which progressively decrease its performance. A further drawback is found in the fact that the aforementioned drip systems are not sufficiently protected from a mechanical point of view, so they can be carelessly damaged by the mechanical action of some tool used in the care of plants. When uneven traction forces were then applied to the drain tube connected to the dripper, the same tube could detach from the dripper, with the consequent interruption of the water supply to the roots.
Therefore, the purpose of the present invention is first of all to create an irrigation system that can be buried in order to reach the roots of the plant in depth, which also eliminates possible infiltrations of dust and mud in the key points of the system and which ensures high water savings, more than allowed by the previous systems. In addition, it takes into account the different realities that the new system will encounter in order to adapt and integrate without replacing the already functioning ducts and that it first eliminates, together with the proliferation of weeds and brambles, the expensive end-of-season maintenance.
Ulteriori scopi e vantaggi della presente invenzione appariranno meglio dalla seguente descrizione eseguita con riferimento ai disegni allegati, nei quali: Further objects and advantages of the present invention will become clearer from the following description made with reference to the attached drawings, in which:

La figura 6 è una vista esplosa in elevazione frontale del giunto di figura 5; Figure 6 is an exploded view in front elevation of the joint of Figure 5;
La figura 7 è una vista in sezione assiale del giunto di figure 5 e 6, e Figure 7 is an axial sectional view of the joint of Figures 5 and 6, e
Figure 8 is a longitudinal section of the joint of Figure 3 showing the tooth 306 with which the flexible tube 9 is provided to prevent it from slipping out.
With reference to the drawings, and with particular reference first to figures 1 and 2, 1 indicates a box-shaped protective joint, made by injection into a mold with any plastic material resistant to chemical agents of the soil, to the attack of fungi and to exogenous agents. The joint 1 consists of two elements 101, 102 connected to each other by means of a hinge C, so as to be able to open like a shell, and provided at the two ends with semi-circular openings 3, 103 surrounded by sealing gaskets 4, 104. The number 5 indicates a gasket element that extends along the periphery of the box-like element 102, to ensure its impermeability. The box-like element 102 carries a well 6 in the center, communicating with the outside through a hole 106 made in a spout 206 integral with the element 102 of the box-like body 1. At its end of connection with the bottom of the well 6 , the hole 106 widens at 406 forming a step 306 with a slightly larger diameter than that of the hole 106 for the purposes that will be described below.
Reference 7 indicates a portion of the collector tube which supplies with water all the irrigation dripping elements mounted in parallel on this tube. Number 8 indicates one of these dripping elements of the "dripline" type, sealed, thanks to the gaskets 4,104 and 5, inside the compartment V of the box-like element 1. This dripping element 8 is provided with a plurality of calibrated holes 108 communicating with compartment V, which feed water to well 6. 9 indicates the tube for feeding water to the root disperser 209. This tube 9 is provided with an annular slub 109 at the end, which rests against the step 306 of the hole 106, so as to prevent the involuntary extraction of the tube 9, due to traction thereon. The box-shaped joint is closed by means of, for example, a screw (not shown) placed to join the two tangs 110 protruding radially out from the free sides of the elements 101, 102. The operation of the described irrigation water dispensing element will appear evident . The water delivered by the dripper 8, passes into the well 6, and from this through the tube 9 it passes to the radical disperser 209 (see figures 5 to 8). The entire compartment for feeding the water to the tube 9 is isolated from the outside thanks to the box-like element 101,102 which hermetically closes the compartment V, and not only, containing the disperser 8 and dispensing it thanks to the gaskets 4, 104 and 5. of the water to the feeder tube 9. Thanks to the presence of the slub 109 obtained at the end of the tube 9, which rests on the step 306 formed between the hole 106 and the enlargement 406, accidental removal of this tube is prevented. Figures 5, 6 and 7 show a further embodiment of the box-like device for protecting a drip tray of the so-called "button" type.
With reference to Figure 6, this protection element consists of three parts, that is a lower part 115, comprising in the center the well 6, shaped in a longitudinal section in the shape of a saddle or U on which one half of the collector tube 7 rests. The threaded arms 12 branch off from the ends of the legs of the U, onto which a closing element 14 is inserted, shaped in turn as an inverted U, which then rests on the upper half of the tube 7, and which is pressed against this tube to by means of a screw closure cap 16, which is screwed onto the threaded arms 12. As illustrated in figure 7, the dispensing tube 9, ending with the radical disperser 209, is provided at the end with a button dispenser 17, equipped with a head mushroom grip 18, which engages in a hole in the collector tube 7. The operation of this device will appear evident. The irrigation water will pass from the collector tube 7 through the intake head 18 to the dispenser 17 and from this to the tube 9 and the root disperser 209.
Finally, in figure 8 the head enlargement 109 of the tube 9 is illustrated in broken lines, which rests against the step 306, preventing the involuntary extraction of this tube.
