It consists both of a chain with basket elements, each of which concatenates at least two other places in succession to it, originating a rope-like chain with more than two protruding helical ribs (1), and in the method that allows to realize the baskets and at the same time concatenate them together (figs. 1 and 3).
D E S C R I Z I O N E DESCRIPTION
The invention relates to the spiral chain with chain-linked basket elements and the method for its implementation which allow the production of flexible necklaces, bracelets and long-limbed articles, or bearing such features, in the ornamental field and in particular in the goldsmith's field. silverware and costume jewelery in general.
Chains are known which are obtained from a succession of basket structure links, each linked by the link which precedes it and concatenates the link which follows it. Such chains are voluminous, with wide openings and the ribs or branches of the links are those of the whole one *! late circumferentially with those of the two adjacent links, one that precedes it and one that follows it in succession. In such chains, the basket-like structure of the individual links making up the chain remains evident.
Finally, chains known as "chord" are known, obtained from the interlacing of open annulars, each linking two or more annulars that precede it and joined by welding to one of them bearing the cut or opening oriented in the opposite direction to its own. Such chains appear to be full-bodied and made up of a central core from which two opposing ribs protrude which develop along the chain with a helical course. The "rope" type chains are highly appreciated in the production of ornamental necklaces and bracelets and their aesthetic appearance has been modified with expensive diamond-cutting operations, of different shaping from the circular one for the ring fingers with which the chain is produced, with the introduction of operation of one or two thin chains between the protruding helical ribs, as if a third or third and fourth helical rib appear protruding from the central core of the chain.
The invention in question consists of an ornamental rope-like chain with more than two helical ribs protruding from the central core and in the way that allows its realization by resorting to meshes with a basket structure. The invention therefore advantageously provides coj: da-type chains with a different number of ribs in any case shaped - depending on the aesthetic effect to be achieved - by resorting to a construction method that admits as variants the structure of the basket with three or more arched branches , the variation in the profile of the section of the branches of the baskets and the more or less oblong, sinuous or faceted shape of the component baskets. The baskets, equal to each other at least in the number of branches that compose them, are linked each with at least two following baskets and are sized so that the space between one branch and the adjacent one allows the passage of a number of branches equal to number of baskets that each of them concatenates in the succession originating the chain. The corresponding branches of the baskets in succession thus become one adjacent to the other and the one translated with respect to the previous one in the direction in which the chain develops, giving a helical rib effect and therefore overall a "rope" type chain with many helical ribs as many branches as each basket.
The chain object of the invention can be diversified ornamentally, while changing the number of ribs of the baskets, making them assume a spherical or oblong faceted aspect or similarly to an ellipsoid, making the branches of each basket circular, polygonal or curvilinear, assuming in the construction baskets identical or different in length and / or in metal and therefore in color, thus allowing to obtain a multitude of different aesthetic effects.

- fig. 8 shows a basket with three branches and a star, also with three branches, in a suitable position to be chained to the basket structure and then undergo the second phase of curvature with which the free ends of its branches are brought into contact and anchored there by welding. However, it must be understood that the drawings and the corresponding described parts are given solely by way of illustration of the subject of the invention and do not in any way constitute a limitation thereof.
In the drawings, 1 indicates the ribs protruding from the central core 2 of the chain, 3 indicates the cuts or openings of the ring fingers, with 4 the section of ring finger diametrically opposite to said cuts 3, with 5 the lower node of a basket with annular, and with 6 the upper node. With 7 are indicated the branches of the star structure with node 8 and with 9 the node originating from the ends of the branches 7 after being bent until they adhere to each other with their free ends. The single basket can be originated in a case with two or more ring fingers with cut 3 and consequently the basket branches 10 will be in a variable number and in any case equal to double the ring fingers used for its realization. When, in the other case, the basket is made by shearing or in any case starting from a star, the number of branches may still be variable and in any case in a number greater than two. The number of branches 10 in the basket obtained from annular, circular or in any case elongated, or from the star by bending the rays 7, is equal to the number of helical ribs 1 on the chain that is produced by concatenating at least the two preceding it in succession with a basket . In this concatenation, the corresponding branches 10 of the chained upwardly concatenated baskets are placed side by side and moved axially between them, thus originating, with their most projecting parts in view, the compact movement of advancement in the axial direction. and in a rotary sense, creating a helical aspect in the C £ tena thus created. This helical aspect is all the more pronounced the greater the number of baskets linked by each one. The sizing of the same must thus take into account the thickness of the wire with which they are made, whose section can in any case be varied in shape, the number of helical ribs and therefore of the branches 10 of each basket and the number of baskets linked by each of them. . The method by which the basket-type rope chain is produced consists in one case in concatenating two or more terminal baskets of a succession with an open ring finger, whose opening 3 is oriented in the direction in which the chain under construction develops and in the arranging a second ring finger perpendicular to the first, with the cut 3 facing in the opposite direction so that each cut 3 wraps the portion 4 on the other ring finger. This position of the two ring fingers is then stabilized with a weld point in the external point 6 or protruding in front of the chain, so that the two ring fingers form a basket with four branches with the internal node 5 which may or may not be fixed with a weld. . The subsequent baskets are constructed by repeating the described step whereby the basket is simultaneously produced and simultaneously concatenates two or more terminal baskets of the same chain under construction. When the baskets, instead of being formed by two open ring fingers, are made with more than two ring fingers, the nodes 5 and 6 of the basket become voluminous, with several ring fingers overlapping in them. The use of star elements, of the type reproduced in Figures 7 and 8, still involves a concatenation similar to an ammagiramento and is particularly advantageous in the production of baskets with an odd number of branches 10. In this case the stars are first bent so as to favor the subsequent deformation of the branches 7, then concatenated with the baskets in succession in the chain under construction, causing each branch 7 to pass between two contiguous branches of the already formed baskets, then it is completed their bending until the free ends of the same branches 7 converge in a single point and fix them there to each other by welding. By varying the number of open annulars, their geometric configuration, the profile of their section - and with similar variations of the star from which a basket is produced - aesthetic variations of the rope chain are obtained which require a correct dimensioning of the baskets, so that these can be chained together and the branches 10 keep each other close to the corresponding baskets which precede it and follow it in succession, thereby highlighting the helical aspect of the protruding backs of the chain.
It is understood that the invention is not limited only to the detailed methodology indicated in the construction of the baskets and their concatenation, but also includes those variations which allow the realization of baskets and the concatenation with the effect of producing protruding ribs which develop. longitudinally according to spiral shapes giving rise to helical figures
