Abstract

Un procedimento per l'introduzione di liquidi in uno spettrometro di massa mediante nebulizzazione elettrostatica dei liquidi in un ambiente a pressione ridotta prevede di disporre un tubo, o più tubi allineati fra loro, in comunicazione con la camera di ionizzazione dello spettrometro di massa, allineare i mezzi di alimentazione del liquido con l'imboccatura di entrata del tubo, distanziandoli dalla imboccatura per un tratto tale da ottenere un'accelerazione del liquido in uscita sufficiente a fargli attraversare il tubo; nebulizzare il liquido in uscita dai mezzi di alimentazione ad una pressione ridotta P1, accelerandolo in direzione del tubo e della camera di ionizzazione e facendolo passare attraverso detto tubo, e ionizzare almeno parte del liquido in detta camera di ionizzazione ad una pressione ridotta P2, maggiore della pressione ridotta P1.(fig. 1).
