Abstract
Sensori d'urti convenzionali smorzati a gas del tipo a sfera in tubo, utilizzano una sfera rivestita con oro per collegare due contatti. Quando la sfera rileva una accelerazione (decelerazione) nella direzione longitudinale di un cilindro, di grandezza e durata sufficienti, essa si sposta in un punto in cui collega i contatti, completando il circuito elettrico ed avviando il funzionamento di un sistema di sicurezza a ritenuta. Un interruttore attivato dal flusso magnetico è combinato con questo tipo di sensore smorzato con gas per provvedere una durata di contatto piena e affidabile e assicurare il corretto funziona-mento del sensore. Il livello di forza di sollecitazione per sensori d'urto nella zona d'urto di questo tipo è stato aumentato per evitare problemi di accensione tardiva in urti marginali.
