Abstract

A spoiler system, automatically raisable during loss of contact with the road surface, particularly for motor vehicles negotiating curves, consisting of a pair of matched and symmetrical spoilers (3) mounted rotatably, and independently in their inclination, on a bar (1) which is in turn fixable to the roof of a motor vehicle, with said spoilers oriented towards the rear and further comprising: - sensing means for the centrifugal force acting laterally on a vehicle whilst negotiating a curve (5) associated with: - control means (2-1'-1''-4') for activating, as a function of the extent of said centrifugal force, the inward facing spoiler with respect to the curve, bringing it into either a substantially horizontal position or into contact with the roof of the vehicle or into a proportionally raised position, in order to give rise to the greatest downward wind thrust on the roof of the vehicle, essentially incident to the innermost wheels to the curve on the vehicle itself (Fig.1).
