Abstract

The present invention relates to a device to detect the rate of unburned substances deriving from fuel ashes. Said device comprises a measuring counter provided with an interaction cell that is associated with a micro-stripe transmission line, provided with a short circuit at one end and fed with radio-frequency power in the microwave field. Said cell is adequately equipped to collect a predetermined quantity of said ashes at any level, and presents predetermined dimensions and distance in function of said micro-stripe, as well as the same frequency of said radio-frequency power. Devices to measure the reflection coefficient of the radio-frequency power transmitted to the interaction cell are also envisaged, as well as devices model reflection coefficient values in calibration tables aimed at obtaining a bi-univocal relation between unburned substance rate and reflection coefficient. Said interaction cell cooperates with a device collecting, dosing and disposing ashes each time they are measured, and finally, control devices are comprised to coordinate said operations and to guarantee automatic random ash testing.
