Abstract

The air conditioning unit includes a partition in its housing separating the interior into a condenser space and a separate space, with the partition and that part of the housing encompassing the separate space cooperating to form a substantially weather tight enclosure for the separate space. The switch for controlling the speed of the condenser fan motor is mounted in the separate space and upon the face of the partition opposite the condenser space so that the requirements of protecting the electrical connections from weather and having them in a enclosed space is accomplished. The switch is responsive to partition temperatures above and below a predetermined value to operate the condenser fan motor at a higher and a lower speed, respectively, with the part of the partition upon which the switch is mounted being disposed relative to the air flow through the condenser space.
