Abstract

Cosmetic prepns. suitable for the after treatment of conditions of seborrhea and acne are prepd. as tinctures, lotions and creams. The tincture is obtd. by a. adding to 1000 parts by wt. apple-or gooseberry brandy contg. 40-50 vol.% alcohol, 10-40 parts by wt. dried chamomile flower, 10-40 parts by wt. dried treacle mustard, opt. 10-40 parts by wt. dried peppermint, 10-40 parts by wt. dried basil thyme and/or 10-40 parts by wt. dried thyme. The mixt. is left for 7-14 days at room temp. and subsequently filtered. b. adding to 1000 parts by wt. apple- or gooseberry brandy contg. 40-50 vol.% alcohol and having a pH pref. adjusted to 7, 100-500 parts by wt. propolis and leaving the mixt. to stand at room temp. for 7-14 days, and subsequently filtering. c. The herb extract from step a and the propolis extract from step b are combined in the ratio 60:40 to 80:20, and 1-6 wt.% disinfectant cerato-plastic tinctural additive pref. sulphur, a sulphur deriv. or the ammonium salt of bitumen-sulphonic-acid is added. The lotion is obtd. by adding to the tincture 10-30 wt.% of a known drying powder additive, pref. zinc-oxide or talcum, and opt. 1-3 wt.% dispersant,pref. colloidal silica and 5-10 wt.% glycerol. The cream is obtd. from the lotion by adding 10-30 wt.% based on the lotion of a hydrophilic anionic lanolin-free known cream-base and 10-20 wt.% talc.
