Abstract
The harder decorative layer deposited on the corrosion resistant alloy base (stainless steel, Co+Cr, Co+Cr+Mo) comprises nitrides, oxynitrides, carboxynitrides, cyanonitrides and/or oxides of the metals of the sub group of Group IV. The thickness ratio of the layer to the base is 1:10-200. The base may be made of soldered members which may be coated with Co, Ni, Mo, Cr, Zr, CrN or MoN prior to applying the harder layer. Favourable comparison with dental prostheses made from Au or Pt in aesthetic appearance and corrosion resistance. Improved strength and wear resistance and much cheaper.
