Abstract

Printable adhesive tapes comprising a (co)polyolefin, pref. a polypropylene support are prepd. by treating the surface of the tape (pref. by corona discharge) to increase its surface tension up to 40 dynes/cm. (pref. 36-40 dynes/cm.), applying on the treated surface, opt. provided with an anchoring layer, an adhesive layer and, on the other surface, an antiadhesion layer. The improvement comprises using antiadhesive layer comprising a lacquer based on polymers or resins adhering well to the support, having good antiadhesive props. w.r.t. the adhesive layer on the other surface and permitting very good applicn. of printing inks. Amt. of lacquer applied is pref. 0.5-1.5 g/sq.m. The lacquer pref. comprises (meth)acrylic acid ester (co)polymers, polyurethane resins obtd. by condensn. of polyenes and isocyanates, modified cellulose ethers or esters or polyamides opt. modified by cellulose esters. The lacquer is applied in the form of a soln. in organic solvents such as MEK, Et acetate, toluene, iPrOH and BuOH.
