Abstract

The transmission includes two toothed pulleys mounted on a pair of parallel spaced shafts, and an endless toothed belt (or chain) connecting the pulleys. The opposed runs of the belt are tensioned by rotatable gear wheels which urge the runs together. The wheels are connected by the tension spring to generate the desired tension. The wheels and spring are movable about the axis of the shafts to vary the relative angular positions of the two shafts.
