Abstract

The servo assisted clutch has a dry plate arrangement operated by a lever linked to a servo cylinder. The operation of the gear lever activates a solenoid control to coupled the vacuum servo pressure into the cylinder and operate the clutch. A cylindrical spring takes up slack in the control. A centrifugal switch opens the servo line when the engine speed drops to idling level so that the drive is disconnected and the vehicle does not stall.
