Process is useful for prodn. of (i) fuels and lubricants for winter use, e.g. Diesel oil of low pour point, (ii) proteins, for animal foods, and (iii) lipids contng. triglyceride and fatty acids for soap prodn., steroids for vitamin D2 and hormone synthesis and phospholipids for confectionery and medicinals.
