1491170 Purifying palm oil NISSHIN-OIL MILLS Ltd 24 Dec1975 [27 Dec 1974] 52917/75 Heading C5C A process for preparing a soft palm oil comprises degumming raw palm oil by contact with phosphoric acid, decolourizing the product by contact with an adsorbent, e.g. activated clay and/or charcoal, steam-distilling under reduced pressure to remove fatty acids and odours and winterizing to remove higher melting materials. The winterization may be either solvent-free or in the presence of an organic solvent.
