Abstract

A horizontal work table has a bearing for a vertical shaft with a feeler roll mounted on the top of the shaft and driven from a steplessly controlled drive. The walls form a structure enclosed and which is under vacuum. A profile is mounted on a sidewall which is on the same level as the probe roll. The profile has the same linear outline as the finished workpiece. A counter contour is also mounted on the structure, axially off-set from the first. A roller engages with this profile which is mounted on a bearing forming part of the work table. A milling tool is mounted over the structure past which the workpiece will move when the table is displaced.
