Abstract

The ring seal has a sealing ring applying a pressure onto a support ring; and a backing ring, which has a lip at one radial end, extending axially to the working surface, against extrusion and rolling. An additional lip (8b) extends axially from the other radial end of the backing ring (8), overlapping the sealing ring (1). The second lip has a smaller axial length than the first lip (8a). The ring seal is formed symmetrical to the central plane of the ring, and backing rings (8) and bearing rings (12) are axially positioned on both sides of the sealing ring. The working surface (7) is positioned on the radially outer circumference of the sealing ring. The first lip is positioned on the radially outer end of the support ring. The rings are cylindrical and consist of different materials.
