The ski binding is designed to prevent undesired release whilst maintaining ease of disengagement by the user. The binding comprises an arm, with articulated elbow joint, hinged to the ski. A lower arm comprises two draw rods (4) straddling the heel base and an upper arm forms the retention element. This latter embodies a boot retention jaw (23), actuated by an elastic sub-mechanism and is mounted for articulation and translation w.r.t. the lower arm. A guide system of ramps and buffers (20, 22) is utilised between lower and upper arms, and locates on a further component which is borne pref. on the base of the upper arm and is capable of relative movement between a release and holding position.
