Abstract

The sorting modules each have a rectangular fixed structure supporting a first transporter operating in one direction. A mobile structure is accommodated and supported in the fixed one, and can be raised to a higher position where transporters operating in a second direction protrude above the first transporter slightly. The first transporter can comprise a number of parallel endless belts (2) spaced apart and running over the top of the fixed structure in the same direction and at the same speed. The second transporter comprises rollers (3) running in bearings in the mobile structure, and rotating in one or the other direction.
