Abstract
The present invention relates to a safety switchgear (1) for the failsafe switching on or off of a hazardous facility (10) comprising: an input for receiving an input signal; a failsafe control/evaluation unit (28) which processes the input signal in order to produce depending on the input signal an output signal for the switching on or off of the hazardous facility (10); and a power supply unit (50) for providing at least one operating voltage for the control/evaluation unit (28). The power supply unit (50) has a voltage transformer (52) for converting an input voltage (Ue) to an output voltage (Ua) corresponding to the operating voltage of a defined output voltage value. The power supply unit (50) has a fault detector (54) for detecting a fault condition of the voltage transformer (52). The fault detector (54) has a comparator (56) for comparing the output voltage (Ua) currently present with a defined reference voltage the fault detector (54) supplying a fault condition signal upon detecting a specific deviation from the reference voltage. The power supply unit (50) has a switch (60) which switches off the input voltage (Ue) of the voltage transformer (52) in the presence of the fault condition signal.
