Abstract
The present invention provides technology that makes it possible to quantitatively clarify the compatibility between coals used in coke production to estimate coke strength while taking said compatibility into account to select and blend raw coal on the basis of a coke strength for which said compatibility has been taken into account and to produce coke of a desired strength. In the coal blending method for coke production of the present invention the strength of coke produced by mixing a plurality of types of coal is predicted on the basis of the difference between the surface tensions of the plurality of types of coal after said types of coals have been heat treated after which the types of coals to be blended and the blending ratio therefor are determined.
