Abstract
This external fixator for the correction and reduction of fragments of bone comprises a bar (1) solidly fixed to a biocompression system (5) on which are placed the supports (2, 3) for fixing pins inserted in the bones, the elements of which can be moved in the direction of the arrows A, B, C and D. The member (6) permits the longitudinal displacement of the flange (2) in the direction of the arrow E, while the biocompression system (5) provides a reciprocal movement in the direction of the arrow F. A damping element (90, 290) interacts with means for adjusting the force applied, these means being external to the bar. Graduated reference marks (99, 283) indicate the value of the force applied. <IMAGE>
