Abstract

Title compsns. contg. by wt. 50-75% P2O5 20-45% FeO and 0-10% R2O (where R = K or Na and R2O contains is not >50% of Na2O) are prepd. by fusing, at 1000-1400 degrees C an iron source, such as iron scale or hematite, a phosphate source, such as NH4H2PO4, and opt. K2CO3 or K4P2O7 and equiv. sodium salts. If required a residue-free reducing agent, esp. a starch, may be included in the mixt. The fused mass is broken into small particles, such as by addn. to water, and may be ground before use. [FR2205491A1]
