Claims (2)

1. WHAT IS CLAIMED IS : 1· Piling apparatus which is adapted to be supported on and movable over the surface of the ground , said piling apparatus being adapted for the insertion and withdrawal of a pile into and out of the ground belo said piling apparatus and comprising a rigid framework havin at least one driving mean, power-operated means connected between the rigid framework and the driving beam for moving the driving beam up and down relative to said rigid framework, said driving beam being adapted to have a pile removably coupled thereto so that the pile may move up and down with said driving beam, said apparatus further comprising a plurality of bearing pads for engagement with the ground, on each pad an element coupled to the framework and movable relative to the pad in the desired direction of rigid framework travel, a drive motor to effect such relative movement and a lifting device connected between each element and the rigid framework operable to raise and lower tb,e framework relative the pad* 2. Piling the apparatus as claimed in Claim 1 wherein there are two driving beams one along each side of the framework, said beams each having a plurality of lugs or the like through which may pass means to couple the piles to said driving beams.
2. Piling apparatus as claimed in Claim 1 or Claim 2, wherein the power-operated means comprise one or more fluid pressure-operated piling jacks. - 1 - 4. Piling apparatus as claimed in any of clrims 1 to 3 wherein each bearing pad comprises a hollow member and each driving motor is a fluid pressure-operated traversing jack housed in the hollow member* Piling apparatus as claimed in any of claims 1 to 4 , wherein each bearing pad is movable vertically relative to the piling rig by said lifting device, latter being the fluid pressure-operated lifting jack whereby the piling r4g may be raised clear of the ground prior to the piling rig being moved along the surface of the ground* 6. Piling apparatus as claimed in Claim 5» including control means for controlling the piling and lifting jacks and the power»operated means* 7. Piling apparatus substantially as herin described with referenoe to and as illustrated in the accompanying drawings*
