Abstract

The tablet is designed to be swallowed and to disintegrate in the presence of the gastrointestinal fluids. It comprises 5 to 80 % by weight of 1,3-bis(2-carboxychromon-5-yloxy)-2-hydroxypropane or one of its pharmaceutically acceptable salts and 20 to 95 % by weight of a mixture of an alkali metal carbonate or bicarbonate or alkaline earth metal carbonate or bicarbonate and citric acid. The tablet has an equilibrium relative moisture content of less than 25 %. These tablets are suitable for the treatment of gastrointestinal disorders. [GB1595220A]
