Abstract

If the baseband of baseband vocoder signals transmitted as modulation by AM transmitters is intended to be received free from interference even by conventional AM receivers, the coded amplitude signals and synchronisation signals must not be audible, the masking effect having to be taken into account here. Since the synchronisation signals are also transmitted in signal pauses, their level must be very low, which leads to separation difficulties during demodulation by vocoder receivers. The phase of the carrier of the synchronisation signals is therefore shifted by means of the phase shifter (PS) through 90 DEG in relation to the phase of the carrier of the coded amplitude signals. <IMAGE> [GB1520715A]
