Abstract
Alkylsulphonylphenoxypropanolamines of the formula I are prepared <IMAGE> in which the radicals R1 to R4 have the meanings stated in Claim 1, by reacting a corresponding phenol with a compound of the formula <IMAGE> in which X is halogen or a group of the formula <IMAGE> in which R5 is a group which can be eliminated by hydrogenation. Subsequently, either the resulting halogen compound is condensed with an amine of the formula H2N-R1, or the resulting amine is hydrogenated to remove the group R5. The prepared compounds have good cardioselective, beta -adrenergic blocking properties and are therefore suitable for the treatment of cardiopathies.
