1446841 Spraying apparatus B P B INDUSTRIES Ltd 13 Nov 1974 [16 Nov 1973] 53348/73 Heading B2L [Also in Division Dl] Apparatus for spraying sheets or a web includes a screen 8 movable at the dictates of a sensor 16 sensing the speed of the sheet or web. The spray from nozzles 1 is interrupted by the movable screen 8, material being returned to a reservoir 6. Sensor 16 detects the speed of the article 2 to be coated, and adjusts the screen position so that the amount of spray material per unit area is constant. A cam arrangement 19 compensates for the non- uniformity of the spray pattern. If the nozzles are horizontal the screen may be vertical and include a gutter. Both sides of the article may be coated by diverting the article and appropriate positioning of the nozzles and screens. [GB1446841A]
