Abstract

1397680 Nutrient composition SEPERIC 19 Dec 1973 [18 Jan 1973] 58819/73 Heading A5B A nutrient composition suitable for parenteral administration comprises an aqueous lipid emulsion of pH 7-8 containing (a) an emulsifier, (b) aminoacids in the aqueous phase including essential amino acids and arginine and (c) an acid pH adjuster. The lipid may be soyabean oil or cottonseed oil. The emulsifier may be egg or soyabean lecithin. The essential amino acids may be isoleucine, leucine, lysine, methionine, phenylalanine, threonine, tryptophan and valine. The pH adjuster may be aspartic acid, malic acid, tartaric acid or citric acid. The composition may also include non-essential aminoacids, e.g. histidine, proline, alanine, serine, asparagine, tyrosine, glycine, cysteine and a glucidic supply, e.g. sorbitol. [GB1397680A]
