Abstract

1397778 Reciprocating pumps WINGET Ltd 9 Aug 1973 [9 Aug 1972] 37143/72 Heading F1A A slurry pump, e.g. for concrete, comprises a hopper 10 with apertures 20, 21 communicating with pumping cylinders 44, 45, a column 54 being rotatably mounted in the hopper by bearings 55, 56 and having a duct 66 with a replaceable, abrasion-resistant sleeve registrable with one of apertures 20, 21 on rotation of column 54 by hydraulic actuators 72, 73, the column having an outlet 83 connectable to a flexible discharge pipe. Pump pistons 46, 47 are hydraulically actuated in timed relation with the movement of column 54 which alternately connects the cylinders to the hopper and the discharge pipe. Paddles 88 on the column agitate the concrete in the hopper, and paddles 86 on a hydraulic motor-driven shaft 84 also agitate the concrete and urge it towards apertures 20, 21. The hopper is mounted on a frame 28 by hinges 34 and pins 40, removal of pins 40 enabling movement of the hopper for access to sleeve 70 and replaceable wear plate 18. [GB1397778A]
