Abstract

1377134 Razors GILLETTE CO 14 March 1972 [15 March 1971 13 Dec 1971] 11840/72 Heading B4B A razor handle comprises a grip portion 14 and a support portion 20 having flanges 22 on which a blade unit 12 can be secured. The support portion 20 is riveted to a block 150, Fig. 21, which is then fixed to a pin 190. A spring member 28 is fitted over the pin and the latter then secured in a brass member 200 by means of crimp 210; additional projections 212 are formed in the member 200 that when the latter presses into a plastics grip member 100, Fig. 8, the projections 212 are forced into ribs 106, 108 moulded in the member 100. The blade unit 12, Fig. 4, is formed with a base portion 30 and cap member 38 for securing a pair of blades 32, 34 to the base; the base is formed with slots 58 so that the unit can be slid over the flanges 22 and retained on the support 20 by the spring 28. In a modification the support portion (20<SP>1</SP>), Fig. 23 (not shown), may be moulded integrally with the plastics grip member 14<SP>1</SP> and the blade unit arranged to be clipped laterally on to the support portion. In the modification shown in Fig. 29, a pair of blades 332, 334 are held on a base member 330 by a cap member 340, the latter being formed with projections adapted to clip into recesses 358 provided in the base member.
