1334798 Moulding tyres DUNLOP HOLDINGSLtd 18 Nov 1971 [21 Nov 1970] 55455/70 Heading B5A In a method of moulding and vulcanizing a pneumatic tyre a coating of a flexible resin which is impervious to hot water and steam is applied to the tyre interior, the tyre is placed in a moulding press provided with means to form a seal with the bead regions of the tyre and steam and/or hot water is introduced under pressure to the tyre interior whereby the tyre is moulded and vulcanized. The resin may be applied by spraying or brushing and the coating may be not more than 0À006 inches thick; it may be removed by the curing media when the tyre is cured. The resin may comprise a rubber modified epoxy resin or one of the following compounds: polyester resins, epoxy-modified acrylic resins, copolymers of perfluoromethyl vinyl ether and polyether polyurethanes or polybutadiene polyurethanes. Before steam and/or hot water is fed to the tyre interior lowpressure air may be supplied to effect initial shaping.. [GB1334798A]
