Abstract

1357121 Peptides E R SQUIBB & SONS Inc 23 April 1971 [28 July 1970] 11048/71 Heading C2C Peptides of the formulae (I), (II) and (III) (where X is Asn, Ser or Nle, n is 0 or 1, Y is Arg, His, Lys or Gly and Z is Asn or Gln) or their derivatives in which at least one carboxyl, amino, guanidino or hydroxy group is protected or a salt thereof are prepared by standard procedures especially by condensing the residue Trp-Pro-Y-Pro with remaining residues or amino acids using a solid phase process. The compounds (I)-(III) inhibit the conversion of angiotenisn (I) to angiotensin (II) and are thus hypotensive agents. The compounds are also biodegradable UV absorbents. Pharmaceutical compositions are in forms for oral and parenteral administration. [GB1357121A]
