Abstract
1315234 Esters of m-tyrosine HASSLE AB 19 April 1971 [10 March 1970] 23534/71 Heading C2C Novel compounds of formula and pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof wherein R is C 1-3 alkyl are prepared either by reaction of m-tyrosine with an alcohol ROH in the presence of an acid, thionyl chloride or dicyclohexylcarbodiimide or by hydrogenation of a compound of either of the formulae wherein Hal is Cl, Br or I and n is 1 to 4, X is H or C 1-4 alkyl and m is 1 to 5 and, in any case, the ester product may be resolved, for example, via the D-tartaric acid salt and/or converted into a salt. Pharmaceutical compositions for treatment of Parkinson's disease in conventional forms for oral, rectal or parenteral administration comprise an above novel compound and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier.
