Abstract

1,261,805. Excavator. F. SCHWING. 17 April, 1969 [18 April, 1968; 31 March, 1969], No. 19679/69. Heading E1F. Scraping apparatus for an excavator comprises a bucket 5 pivotable about an axis 7 on an arm 6 by a first hydraulic thrust-piston mechanism 8 which is carried by a jib 14, and second and third hydraulic thrust-piston mechanisms 16 and 23 to pivot respectively the arm 6 about the jib and the jib about the upper-structure 2 of the excavator, with the parts of the apparatus being so dimensioned and arranged that the bucket can be moved in a straight line, with the scraping angle remaining substantially unaltered, without the need to actuate the piston mechanism 8. The cylinder of the mechanism 8 may be directly pivoted on the jib 14, or be pivoted on the end of a lever pivoted on the arm 6 with the other end of the lever being connected to a second lever pivoted on the jib. Alternatively the cylinder may be pivotally mounted on the ends of two levers, one lever being mounted on the arm 8 and the other lever on the jib 14. [GB1261805A]
