Abstract
1,262,966. Multiple compartmented container; caps for containers. DART INDUSTRIES Inc. 24 March, 1969 [1 April, 1968], No. 15393/69. Headings B8D and B8T. A multiple compartmented container comprises a number of open-topped, individual compartments 11 (Fig. 1) having tapered, individual walls, each compartment having a removable lid 13 for making sealing engagement therewith; a rigid supporting web 12 extends around, and integrally with the walls of, the compartments, and may include hand holds 23. The lids are recessed at 16 and have depending rims 17 for clamping over the compartment walls, while leaving a gap between rim 17 and web 12 (see also Fig. 8). The depth of the middle compartment may be less than the outer compartment depths, for improved stability on warpage. The container may be formed by injection moulding of polyethylene or polypropylene; the separate compartments may be arranged on a triangularly shaped web (Fig. 9, not reproduced), and the containers are suitable for resting, and for storing food or hardware.
