Abstract
1,249,055. Provender distributing installation. ANCIENS ATELIERS LEON DELBEQUE ET FILS. 20 Feb., 1969 [30 Dec., 1968], No. 9288/69. Heading A1M. An installation for distributing provender to cattle comprises a plurality of individual feeding troughs, a motor operated flexible member driving means to move said troughs to and from a supply station and to feeding stations at each of which an animal feeds from one trough, wherein each trough is supported by guide means cooperating with fixed guides beneath the feeding stations' floor, and connecting means between each trough and the flexible member. A continuous coil system 20 runs between the feeding stations 4 and provender store 3. The length of each trough is substantially the same as a feeding station 4. The troughs, after filling, are moved by attachment to endless drain 10 to feeding stations 4 where the moving lids 23, 22 covering the troughs are opened either by handles 26 or by a motor actuable only when the troughs are at rest. After feeding the troughs are moved out in the same direction past devices 9 which causes tilting of the troughs to expel remaining provender, via inter action of rollers 33 with inclined guide rail 32. Further movements rights the troughs ready for the next loading. Further embodiments include automatic trough washing and loading, and a non continuous rail system on which the troughs must move in an alternating motion.
