Abstract
1,202,638. Fusible cut-outs; two-part couplings. INTERNATIONAL STANDARD ELECTRIC CORP. 14 Nov., 1968 [27 Nov., 1967], No. 53997/68. Headings H2E and H2G. A fuse carrying unit 1 comprises a housing 6 equipped with a pair of female contacts 4, at one end, and a pair of terminals 3, 3<SP>1</SP> at the opposite end, and in which the respective contacts 4 and terminals 3, 3<SP>1</SP> are electrically connected by fuses 5. The fuses 5 may each comprise a fuse-wire which is soldered to extensions of elements 4, 3, 3<SP>1</SP>. After soldering the ends of wire 5 may be cut off by pressing down a cutting tool (12, Fig. 2, not shown). The housing may also include a stud for co-operation with an elastic-sided slot 11 in order to lock the unit to a terminal block 2 which is equipped with male contacts 10, 10<SP>1</SP>. For lightning protection a pair of lightning arrestors of the carbon type and a third female contact may be included in the housing. This third contact cooperates with a third earthed male contact in block 2, the contacts 4 being connected to the third contact via the arrestors.
