Abstract
Heat insulating porous bricks or ceramic wall elements which may be solid or hollow are produced by adding to the plastic clay in the brick making process 25-45 vol.% expanded volcanic rock or pumicite having an apparent density of 150-300, pref. 180-210 kg per cubic meter. The granule size of the additive is not more than 2.5 mm. The wall elements obtd. from this compsn. have good heat insulating properties.
