Abstract
Liver, other offal, raw meat, meat-industry by prods., and waste are treated without a need for freezing or addn. of preservatives by employing a soln. of the following compsn. (all pts. wt.): 1000-1500 water, 0.5-20 carbon-dioxide, and opt.; 20-25 salt, and a potassium-nitrate soln. Meat industry prods. are allowed to stand in this soln. for 2-20 hrs. Treated prods. are either separated from the liq. mixt. prior to being packed or the liq. mixt. and meat prods. are packaged together.
