A találmány tárgya eljárás szennyvíziszap, amelynek során - kezelendőszennyvíziszapot táplálnak be egy keverőbe, - a kezelendőszennyvíziszaphoz legalább egy lúgos reagens anyag bizonyosmennyiségét adagolják hozzá, - a szennyvíziszapot és a legalább egylúgos reagens anyagot alaposan összekeverik, - a kezeltszennyvíziszapot elvezetik a keverőből, és - meghatározzák a legalábbegy lúgos reagens anyag hozzáadott mennyiségét, azzal jellemezve, hogy- a betáplálás előtt vagy aközben megmérik a kezelendő szennyvíziszaplegalább egy kohézióértékét, és - a legalább egy lúgos reagens anyaghozzáadott mennyiségének a kezelendő szennyvíziszap legalább egy mértkohézióértéke függvényében végzett megfelelő adagolásával beállítják aszennyvíziszap kezelés utáni kohéziójának vagy szárazanyag-tartalmánakelőre meghatározott értékét.
