Abstract

The invention relates to the strong antimicrobic and antifungal action of the chios mastic oil extracted from the leaves, branches and fruit of the pistacia lentiscus var chia. According to the chromatographic analysis, the mastic oil acts against bacteria: staphilococcus aureus (atcc25923), staphylococcus epidermidis (atcc12228), the 4-gramm-Negative bacteria: Estherichia coli (atcc25922), Enetrobacter Cloacae (atcc13047, Kleobsiella pneumoniae (atcc13883), and Pseudomonas aerugininosa (atcc227853), as well as against the fungi: Candida albicans, Candida tropicalis, and Torulipsis glabrata. This strong pharmaceutical action make the Chios mastic oil be useful for fighting eczema, dandruff acne, ulitis and plaque formed on teeth; it can be used alone, in combination with other drastic medecines, or in the form of various cosmetic products such as: face or body creams, sun-protection creams, toothpastes, chewing-gums, dental flosses, moutn washes, toothpicks enriched with mastic oil, shampoings, antiseptic soaps, lotions, milks, bath creams, shampoings against dandruff, hand creams, slimming creams, and medical preparations against burns.
