Abstract

Η μέθοδος παραγωγής πεντοξειδίου του αζώτου (N2O5) συνίσταται στην αντίδραση διαλύματος τετροξειδίου του αζώτου (N2O4) σε πτητικό οργανικό διαλύτη, με ρεύμα φέροντος αερίου που περιέχει όζον. Το N2O5 που παράγεται με αντίδραση μεταξύ του Ν2Ο4 και όζοντος μεταφέρεται στο ρεύμα αερίου και, στη συνέχεια, συμπυκνώνεται από το ρεύμα αερίου δι' επαφής με περαιτέρω ποσότητα αδρανούς οργανικού διαλύτη. Η λανθάνουσα θερμότητα σχηματισμού του Ν2Ο5 απορροφάται από τη θερμότητα εξατμίσεως του διαλύτη, περιοριζομένων έτσι των αυξήσεων της θερμοκρασίας αντιδράσεως και καταστελλόμενης της διαστάσεως του Ν2Ο5. Σε ένα προτιμούμενο υπόδειγμα, τα στάδια αντιδράσεως και απορροφήσεως εκτελούνται σε χωριστές στήλες στις οποίες υπάρχει οργανικός διαλύτης που ανακυκλοφορεί συνεχώς σε κάθε μία ενώ από τη στήλη αντιδράσεως ρέει συνεχώς προς τη στήλη απορροφήσεως φέρον αέριο. ω
