Abstract
'Ενα ρευστό που αποτελείται από συστατικά με χαμηλότερο και υψηλότερο σημείο βρασμού συμπιέζεται σε υγρή φάση, από χαμηλότερη σε υψηλότερη πίεση. Το υγρό αυτό θερμαίνεται σε μία ατμογεννήτρια και εξατμίζεται μερικώς. 'Ετσι δημιουργούνται δυο ρευστά: Το πρώτο είναι σε αέρια φάση και αποτελείται κυρίως από το συστατικό με το χαμηλότερο σημείο βρασμού, ενώ το δεύτερο είναι σε υγρή φάση και είναι ένα διάλυμμα φτωχό σε συστατικό με χαμηλό σημείο βρασμού. Μετά από διαδοχικές αναθερμάνσεις και εκτονώσεις το αέριο απορροφάται από το φτωχό διάλυμμα που επιστρέφει στον απορροφητή.
